GT STICK SERIES.




GT Stick Series are most suitable for use casting stickbait and pencils along BARRIER REEFS – Precision casting and distance are the most important aspect when chasing GTs in this type of terrain. GTs will hang out in the white water “zone” right near where the wave crashes into the reef to prey on bait fish that are scattered by crashing waves. This zone is a narrow strip that runs parallel along the reef and no more than a few meters wide and it is imperative to land the lure in this zone. The best GT fishing is always on days when there are strong currents or big swells and in these conditions boats have to stay a distance away from the reef for safety reasons and that is why we need a rod with the ability to consistently cast 60-80m to reach the zone and GT Sticks are specifically designed for this purpose.

Most barrier reefs are drop off type terrain so once a fish is hooked it is unlikely that the angler will experience fish running into obstacles, the angler can fight the fish without much worry of being “reefed”. As such, when designing Pathfinders, we emphasized on casting ability over rod power and fish fighting capabilities, resulting in a highly efficient casting rod for this type of terrain.
